GNL Uruguay – LNG SUPPLY Registry and Data Interchange Site

The LNG Project in Uruguay comprises two main components: a) to develop a regasification terminal near the existing port of Montevideo city and, b) to contract the LNG supply related with the consumptions in the electric and non-electric sectors.

Regarding the implementation of the physical assets of the terminal, UTE and ANCAP (*) formed a special purpose company- named Gas Sayago S.A.- that is now facing the selection and contracting process in a BOOT basis with international groups.

The development of the contracting scheme for the LNG supply is directly under the responsibility of UTE and ANCAP, which also have sovereign guarantee by the Uruguayan State.

The schedule related with LNG supply has in 2013 an important milestone. After beginning in 2012 with initial rounds of meetings and signature of Confidentiality Agreements, the foresee activities in the current year include a detailed definition of all supply characteristics.

This website will act as a support to complete the formal registry of interested companies regarding the LNG supply process and also for the information interchange during the mentioned process.
